Alcomate AL7000 Premium Breathalyzer Review
Posted by The Breathalyzer Team on 7/7/2010 to Product News
Alcomate PremiumToday we will be looking at our best semiconductor breathalyzer, the Alcomate AL7000 Premium. There is one thing that really set this unit aside from the rest, and that is the replaceable sensor. No longer do you have to send the unit to the lab for calibration, now you can do it yourself. This minimizes downtime and reduces the cost of ownership.

Also, it's no ordinary semiconductor sensor. This unit uses a second generation sensor that is more robust and more accurate. In fact, this is the only semiconductor device that we sell that has a three decimal digit display. All of the other units only have two.

Alcomate Premium Alcomate Sensor

The form factor of this device is very nice as well. It's small, compact and easily carried in a pocket or purse. I have owned cell phones larger than this device! The fit and finish are quality, with a nice faux brushed stainless steel look on the front of the unit. The battery and sensor covers fit well and you can tell by just handling it that it is a premium device.

The breathalyzer comes with a full kit of accessories as well, including:

  • Hard and soft cases
  • 6 mouthpieces
  • Car adapter
  • Lanyard
  • Batteries
These accessories are welcome as most of the devices we sell only come with the bare necessities (e.g. batteries and a soft case). Over all, and compared to other semiconductor devices, we give this unit 5 stars. But, because we compare each device to all of it's competitors we have to knock a 1/2 star off when comparing the Alcomate Premium to the accuracy of the fuel cell breathalyzers.

Definitely a good buy and a great device.

Check out our review video below for a more detailed look at the device and its accessories.
